gDesklets is a system for bringing mini programs (desklets), such as weather forecasts, news tickers, system information displays, or music player controls, onto your desktop, where they are sitting there in a symbiotic relationship of eye candy and usefulness. The possibilities are really endless and they are always there to serve you whenever you need them, just one key-press away. The system is not restricted to one desktop environment, but currently works on most of the modern Unix desktops (including GNOME, KDE, Xfce).
We are now on identi.ca, so join us for up-to-date information on gDesklets development.
There will be a meeting on 1 October 2011 at 2000 UTC in the #gdesklets channel on irc.gnome.org to discuss gDesklets development issues. All are welcome to join, even if you've never contributed to the development community before.
In order to combat spam while we try to decide on how to proceed with the future of hosting Desklets and Controls, we have turned off submission. If you would like to submit a Desklet or Control, please send an e-mail to the mailing list and we will make it happen.
